Marlengo: Experience nature and tradition!

The village of Marlengo is located on a glacial moraine hill above the spa town of Merano. With its privileged location close to Merano, Marlengo combines the amenities of the city with the benefits of the peaceful countryside. It offers outstanding panoramic views and a well-defined network of hiking trails with several routes at three different levels, leading from the bottom of the Val d’Adige Valley up to the plateau of the Marling mountain.

The different seasons

APPLE BLOSSOM - THE SPRING AWAKENING

Unforgettable for our guests is the breath-taking apple blossom in April. The entire Valley “Etschtal” is transformed into a single ocean of flowers, blossoms and colours, shining in white and pink. This environment invites you to go for a walk or make a bike tour in the valley or explore the “Waalweg” trails of Marlengo and Lagundo.

HIKING HOLIDAYS – ENJOY THE SUMMER

Here you can escape the heat of the valley, take one of the many cable cars up to dizzy heights, climb a peak or take a rest at an alpine pasture, where you will be treated with typical South Tyrolean food. In the afternoon we recommend cooling down in the waters of the nearby lakes or the many outdoor swimming pools of our area.

AUTUMN HOLIDAYS - EXPERIENCE THE TIME OF THE HARVEST

and enjoy the colourful and mild autumn in the valleys as well as in the heights. This time is known for the typical South Tyrolian “törggelen”, a social gathering in a local tavern or “Buschenschank”, how we call it. There one can roast chestnuts and taste the new wine of the season, all surrounded by musical framing and if you are lucky some traditional dances.

IN WINTER, EVERYTHING COMES TO REST

Of course, this is also the time we welcome all guests, who now want to visit the famous Christmas markets of Merano and surroundings or the winter garden of the brewery “Forst”. The white, snowy mountains invite one to ski, snowshoe or hike and afterwards you can relax in the warm waters of the thermal baths of the spa city.
